I don’t really participate on other forums here. I hope this posting will be ok here…
I was able to speak tonight at a Birthright conference here at one of our local colleges (highly esteemed college… upper crust and all that. LOL). For those of you who don’t know, Birthright is an organization made up of volunteers who befriend frightened, pregnant girls and their families if need be, and encourage them to choose life for their unborn babies.
I’ve been working with this organization for a few years now and I’ve spoken at a couple of conferences now.
I always get incredibly nervous before I speak or sing in front of people. But God is always faithful and he comes through!!
I cannot begin to tell you how the Holy Spirit spoke to these young people tonight. AND I cannot begin to tell you how incredibly thankful I am that I was allowed to be used by God to touch them.
This, being the Feast day of St. Bernadette, who happens to be my favorite Saint…
I don’t know how it happened. St. Bernadette, the story of her life and Mary’s declaration at Lourdes to Bernadette that “I am the immaculate conception” came through so loud and clear tonight. I was able to tell them of my conversion and through the story of Mary and Bernadette to speak out about conception and how we know that life begins AT conception.
It took me a long time to get over Mormonism, the Assembly of God, and into the Catholic Church. From my very first encounter with Catholicism watching the “Song of Bernadette” as a child and not understanding a bit of it to tonight sharing that with all these young people.
Thank you God!!
