I met St. Eudocia last year when I dedicated myself to reading about the saints of the day during Lent. Her story was so relevent to my struggles and to the prayers I make for my loved ones.

Here’s her story:

I feel that her prayers, along with those of St. Rita, St. Mary Magdalene, St. Monica and others are being heard. I’ve not been able to find one for St. Eudocia so I composed one. I will be making a St. Eudocia novena starting tomorrow and ending on her feast day. Here is it; please join me in prayer.

St. Eudocia,

_Through God’s providence, you inadvertently came to know Him. Please pray with me that the ones I love will come back to the Father, either by choice or, like you, by chance. _

Though you lived a life of great sin, the realization of eternity without God compelled you to turn to His Son for your salvation. Through great faith and love of God, you turned your life to one of piety and prayer. Please pray with me that my loved ones can realize that eternity without God awaits them if they don’t repent of their sins and live lives more pleasing to God and worthy of the promises of Christ.

God looked at you with great favor that He gave you the gift of raising the dead through your prayers. Please pray with me that the ones I love, who are spiritually dead and hard of heart, will know the love of God and ask for His mercy and forgiveness; that they may rise from spiritual death to live lives that turn others toward God.

St. Eudocia, repentant and holy, pray for us.

_St. Eudocia, whose prayers could raise the dead, pray for us. _
St. Eudocia, whose faith led others to Jesus, pray for us.
_St. Eudocia, friend and martyr, pray for us. _

Amen.
