My struggle with the Psalms continues…
I understand St. Jerome made more than one translation of the Psalms. At least three, it seems.
It’s hard to even find out definitively how many translations he made.
But there was at least one translation from Greek, which I believe is the one that ended up in the Vulgate, and hence in the Douay, right?
And then there is a translation he made direct from Hebrew that is supposed to be more poetic or beautiful or something?
Which translation by St. Jerome of the Psalms should I read, anyway?
(It doesn’t seem like there’s options to read translations by anyone prior to St. Jerome…)
