Have you heard of saints talking to someone ?

Sure, many people on earth (some of whom later became saints themselves) have reported private revelations in which saints spoke to them. It’s not that unusual.

I note that Catholics are not required to believe in private revelations, which includes reports by people that saints spoke to them.

I have. I’ve also however heard of people hearing voices in their head from mental illness.

My take, which is probably going to get 0 likes:

If a person is formally canonized by the Catholic Church, my default stance is to believe absolutely everything they say in terms of mystical experiences, unless what they say is difficult/uncomfortable to hear, in which case I not only believe it, but I also commit the thought to memory.

I am not of the opinion that the Holy Spirit permits lunatics to be canonized and used as intercessors & guides for billions or possibly trillions of people until the end of time.

Read her court testimony some time–it is all accessible, word by word, and fascinating. She was uneducated but quite intelligent, witty, down to earth. One does not get the sense at all that she was living in a fantasy world, or had mental impairment. Her incredible courage has to be accounted for. She insisted on the reality of the saints speaking with her and guiding her. She also spoke about her anguish when they left her on her own for a time.
