Hi,

Where, on the internet, can I find a full treatise by St. John Chrysostom on 2 Timothy 3:16-17?

I am going to begin a discussion on the subject with a Protestant who claims that St. John Chrysostom supports Sola Scriptura using this Scripture verse. But I can’t find a complete treatise on the subject and what I can find is from a Protestant perspective.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Sincerely,

De Maria

You may find this useful also:
Homily IV on Second Thessalonians
Ver. 15. “So then, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye were taught, whether by word, or by Epistle of ours.”
Hence it is manifest, that they did not deliver all things by Epistle, but many things also unwritten, and in like manner both the one and the other are worthy of credit. Therefore let us think the tradition of the Church also worthy of credit. It is a tradition, seek no farther. Here he shows that there were many who were shaken.
