Hey guys,
On Sunday mass the priest asked us to think about why St. John sent his disciples, when he was imprisoned, to inquire of Jesus if he was the messiah, and this was strange because St. John had already baptised him and saw the heavens open and heard the fathers voice.
Any thoughts?
 
He told them to inquire about whether Jesus was the messiah so that they could believe in Jesus. Remember Jesus affirmed (although not directly) and then they went back to John and John told them to follow Jesus.

It was all so that they may come the believe in who Jesus was. It was for their sake, not John’s.
