St Faustina said that Jesus stressed that He could never reject a repentant heart, never refuse an appeal to His mercy:

However, St John Vianny spoke about the number of sins God no longer pardons,he also spoke of a man was refused mercy on his deathbed because he committed a lot of mortal sins during his life, then he wanted God and God rejected him.

Both approved by the church.

Who are we meant to believe?
 
I think you’d have to go beyond mere titles of sermons to see what is being said.
 
Saint John Vianney would not have said that. I think you’re misinterpreting him.

God doesn’t reject anyone who seeks his mercy.

St. John Vianney was referring to presumptuous souls who believed they could deliver a by-the-numbers “act of contrition” from their hardened hearts and give up a lifetime of presumptuous rejection of grace in a moment. If you read what he describes, it is not perfect contrition but rather he describes rote contrition with no actual horror of the sins committed in it. It is fire insurance. It is self-preservation. It is not contrition or a true desire for reconciliation. No, instead the reality of what they have done drives them to despair. They have spent their lives presuming on last-minute grace with no love in it, which is surely the sin against the Holy Spirit of which Our Lord spoke.
You do not dare to make a clean breast of it to your pastor? But is he the only one in the world? Would you not
find priests who would have the charity to receive you? Do you think that you would be given too severe a penance? Ah, my children, do not let that stop you! You would be helped; the greater part of it all would be done for you. They would pray for you; they would weep for your sins in order to draw down with greater abundance the mercies of God on you! My friends, have pity on that poor soul which cost Jesus Christ so dearly! … Oh, my God, who will ever understand the blindness of these poor sinners! It is a precept of the Church to confess serious sins at least annually; these people St. John Vianney speaks of were trying to duck the annual precept on the presumption that they would be stronger at the moment of death than they were during life.

Today, I was led by an angel to the chasm of hell. It is a place of great torture; how awesomely large and extensive it is! The kinds of tortures that I saw; the first torture that constitutes hell is the loss of God; the second is perpetual remorse of conscience; the third is that one’s condition will never change; the fourth is the fire that will penetrate the soul without destroying it — a terrible suffering, since it is a purely spiritual fire, lit by God’s anger; the fifth torture is continual darkness, and a terrible, suffocating smell, and despite the darkness, the devil and the souls of the damned see each other and all the evil, both of others and of their own; the sixth torture is the constant company of Satan; the seventh torture is horrible despair, hatred of God, vile words, curses and blasphemies…I am writing this at the command of God, so that no soul may find an excuse by saying there is no hell, or that nobody has ever been there, and so no one can say what it is like.
 
We also had that one about 3 months ago. I keep files on these things, you know.
 
Lol…I only knew about it because of a recent search I had done on Divine Mercy. I saw this thread and it immediately rang a bell.
