I went to a different daily Mass today because of our schedule, and one of the priests had a relic of St. Josemaria, which he permitted us to venerate. Very cool. Happy Feastday!

“Don’t seek to be ‘understood’. The lack of understanding is providential; so that your sacrifice may pass unnoticed.” ~ St. Josemaria Escriva ~

One of my favorites…🙂

Happy Feast day to all our St Josemaria fans out there 😉

Of course in our little timezone it’s the 27th already, which makes it the feast of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, who I love dearly. 😃

From The Forge

“My daughter, you have set up a home. I like to remind you that you women — as you well know — have a great strength, which you know how to enfold within a special gentleness, so that it is not noticed. With that strength, you can make your husband and children instruments of God, or demons.

You will always make them instruments of God: he is counting on your help.” (The Forge,690)

The Mass here in Vancouver was absolutely beautiful! 😃

And it was a double anniversary since it’s been 50 years since Opus Dei came to Canada. It was also interesting to see my previous spiritual director concelebrating at the Mass…

One of my favourite quotes of St. Josemaria is about how we must view others as souls at all times-- souls in need of salvation, and we must help them on their way. (Unfortunately I don’t have the exact quote, but it’s in The Way or The Forge…)

I love the videos! This makes me want to join Opus Dei. Any prelature that he founded (although he says it was founded in spite of him) must be great! 👍

Nice!
I especially like this quote of St. Josemaria’s: #978 ~ The Way

‘Follow me, and I will make you into fishers of men’. Not without reason does our Lord use these words: men — like fish — have to be caught by the head.

What evangelical depth there is in the ‘intellectual apostolate’!

I’m starting to really like St. Josemaria! I browsed through selections from that book. I think I may buy it. Short little bits of inspiration and advice for good living!

So, Annunciata, are you in Opus Dei or involved with them somehow? I would get involved, but they don’t have it in my area. Maybe when I move I’ll be able to explore it then 🙂

I’m a cooperator…🙂

Oh, cool. So how did you first get involved? Do you have family in Opus Dei?
I learned about OD from one of my best friends who had been inviting me to “Mornings of Recollection” for many years…One day, after going through a “Conversion Experience”, and had read a book about Bl. Josemaria, “At God’s Pace”, I finally felt the call to go…I immediately knew this is what I wanted…
No, I have no family members belonging…yet…😉
