Does anyone own or have information regarding the NCV Bible?

All I know about it is that it’s published by Catholic Book Publishing Co. and was sponsored by the Bishops of the Philippines…

It’s available as a New Testament released in 2015, and a Psalter released in about 2002, but no OT beyond that.

I am LONGING for a full version of this Bible - it reminds me of what I wish the NABRE was. It’s very formal, yet at the same time it is both more readable (feels more like natural, not stilted English) and more traditional in its renderings than the NAB.

This is fast becoming my favorite NT translation - it reminds me of a 1941 Confraternity NT - if it had updated modern English.

I LOVE this Bible - please God give us a full Bible in the NCV!

I like the translation, but the cover is, IMO, garbage… but that’s small fish 😃

A fair-haired, pale-skinned Jesus always seems wrong to me - but I also like the look of the translation.

At my parish youth group, we have a similar depiction of Christ- We jokingly call him ‘Aryan Jesus’ 😃

I’ve always been a man for leather-bound, but to each their own

I don’t care as much about the physical book as I do about the translation.

This NCV is one of the BEST translations of the NT - and I’ve read dozens and dozens.

I can post specific verses if anyone wants to see.

I don’t mind too much what a Bible is made out of. I even fell in love with the very simple cover for the paperback NAB:

I prefer different kinds for different situations: paperback for devotion, hardback for study.

I looked the translation up. Do they only have the pocket sized version? That would be a shame.
