I like the Saint Joseph People’s Prayer Book that I purchased years ago. Any comments that I offer should be understood that I have a 1993 copyrighted version.
I feel that there are many prayers that help me express & give insight about proper disposition for specific types of problems. In this respect, I find the prayer book very helpful. So I highly recommend it for those special needs.
With that said, don’t expect all the most common prayer practices. For example, the chaplet of Divine Mercy, which I stumble over & often comes up in communal prayer services. My prayer book does not have the optional Luminous mysteries of the Rosary (maybe pre-dates its introduction by JP2?). Also, I wish there was good prayers related to an end to abortion.
Nevertheless, I do find it helpful to express myself on various common life experience special needs situations.
Of course, I have a special affection for Saint Joseph, so I am quick to buy such a book simply for the mention of Saint Joseph on the cover. Nevertheless, I was not disappointed with my impulse buy purchase.
