What St. Joseph prayers have you found to be most effective in your life? I am sure all prayers all are. However I feel quite overwhelmed and really don’t know where to start. Please share your thoughts. Thank you and God Bless.

I pray from the The Pieta booklet a prayer to St Joseph . It says:

Prayer to St. Joseph over 1900 years old

O St. Joseph whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the Throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires.* O St. Joseph do assist me by your powerful intercession and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings through Jesus Christ, Our Lord; so that having engaged here below your Heavenly power I may offer my Thanksgiving and Homage to the Loving of Fathers.* O St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms.* I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart.* Press him to my name and kiss His fine Head for me, and ask Him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath.* St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for us.* Amen

Say for nine consecutive mornings for anything you may desire.*It has seldom been known to fail.

This prayer was found in the fiftieth year of Our Lord Jesus Christ.* In 1500’s it was sent by the Pope to Emperor Charles when he was going into battle.

Whoever reads this prayer or hears it or carries it, will never die a sudden death, nor be drowned, nor will poison take effect on them.* They will not fall into the hands of the enemy nor be burned in any fire, nor will they be defeated in battle.

Make this prayer known everywhere.

I’m not sure about the “promises” of saying that prayer. The Pieta booklet seems to sound controversial and sometimes superstitious. I just pray the prayers without thinking about the promises .

I pray this every morning 3 times even when I am not praying for anything specific. Except I have memorized the “Thee and Thou” language version. I just recently had a Mega favor answered using this novena with Joseph’s intercession so, I highly recommend it. Also just noticed this question was posted the day I got that prayer answered (10/21) so I think this is no coincidence. 🙂

Hello there. I really like the Litany of Saint Joseph. ( I just realized it’s been awhile since I’ve prayed it so I’ll be praying it tonight.) There’s also a really beautiful prayer, sometimes called the October prayer to Saint Joseph that begins: " To thee, O Blessed Joseph, do we have recourse in our tribulation and, having implored the help of thy Thrice Holy Spouse…" I pray it throughout the year. Then there’s a prayer that’s suitable for praying before Mass that begins: " Happy and blessed are thou, O Joseph…"

Hope this helps. God bless you for wanting to get closer to Saint Joseph. Saint Teresa of Avila had a deep devotion to him. She always said in any situation “Go to Joseph.”🙂
