Hi all, when I last posted we had just gotten word about a transfer to the St. Louis area. I’ve been actively looking for a home and have found a couple that we like in Dardenne Prairie. It looks like the closest Catholic School would be Immaculate Conception and I just don’t find the school website very helpful. Does anyone have any knowledge or reccomendations about this school or any of the schools (parochial or parish) in St, Charles county?

We haven’t ruled out living closer to the Chesterfield/Wildwood area so if those area schools are significantly better I’d like to know that too.

Thank you in advance

Gateway Academy in Chesterfield is solidly orthodox, but it is not a parish school. It is run by legionaries of Christ. I have heard nothing but good things.

At each specific parish grade school, you may find good and bad…and it can depend on the principal and pastor, which change.

When you get to the “catholic” high school level, there are only a couple that I know of that are solid.

I jjust got a chance to look at the Gateway Academy website, it looks amazing, I’d love to send my kids to a place like that I just don’t think I can afford to send 3 kids there. Thanks for the response…

FRIDAYS–

Here is a link for you:

Yes, I know, it’s a figure skating club. Who belongs to figure skating clubs? Mainly hundreds of parents of children and teenagers, and all of these kids go to SCHOOL.

Get the idea?

I can attest that this figure skating club is full of the nicest, most intelligent people that you can ever hope to meet. They don’t just live in Webster Groves, either. They are generous and friendly and they will be happy to help someone out who is looking for school advice.

Many of these people can give you great advice about schools: public, parochial, and private. I don’t know too many homeschoolers in that crowd, but I’m sure they’re there.

I would suggest starting with contacting the Vice President. Tell her “Charity’s mom told me to write.” She’ll know who you mean. Say the same thing to anyone in the club that you contact.

Hint: make sure to congratulate them because their Juvenile synchro team, Synergy made it to Nationals this year! (look them up on youtube)

And after you move to St. Louis, don’t miss their Nutcracker On Ice in Webster Groves in December–it’s gorgeous. Get involved as a volunteer–you’ll have fun.

Good luck.

I know people come from all over within st. Louis county, but webster groves is 40-55 min drive from where the OP is talking about. The OP is talking about possibly living in a farther end of a whole different county.
