What does it mean to be an interpreter of Peter?

Is this function still with us today?
If yes, who exercises it and in what capacity?

I hope these questions don’t come off as inimical.

I’m interested in what Catholics might have to say concerning an interpreter of “Peter” [the Pope].

I look forward to your answers. 👍

Saint Mark was a disciple of Saint Peter. Then Saint Mark went to Alexandria and founded the Church there (Coptic Church). There he wrote the Gospel according to Saint Mark.

But, since he was the disciple of Saint Peter, his Gospel is considered to be the Gospel through the eyes of Saint Peter (much like Luke’s is Saint Paul’s Gospel).

I guess you can call that being an interpreter.
