From the Prayer of St. Maximillian:
“O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you, and for all those who do not have recourse to you, especially the enemies of the Church and those recommended to you.”

My question is around that last phrase (italicized). The rest of the prayer I can grasp what it is referring to but who are “those recommended to you?”

That’s a phrase indicating those who have been prayed for either by others or by self; iow, they have “been recommended” to Mary for her attention.

Thanks - that explains it…and now I feel stupid seeing how obvious it should have been. I’m slow. :o
