St. Nicasius of Jersualem as a patron saint?

Hello everyone,

Currently considering a patron Saint in regards to confirmation and in my studies I have come across St. Nicasius of Jerusalem (or of Sicily). I have taken particular interest in his story as a crusader and then being martyred upon being captured by Saladin’s army. However, despite being called a Saint I can not find any information about his canonization. This, I was wondering if anyone had more information about him and if he would be a suitable patron saint, if he is indeed one.

If he’s a Saint he’s suitable.
It’s purely your personal choice.
