The attorney for a man who says he was abused decades ago by a now-deceased priest at a school for the deaf alleged Sunday that the Vatican refused to be served with a lawsuit.

St. Paul attorney Jeff Anderson said Sunday in a news release that his office tried to serve the lawsuit naming as defendants Pope Benedict XVI and other high-ranking officials at the Vatican, but that it was returned via Federal Express.

I fail to see how they “blocked” a lawsuit. If it were that easy I doubt there would be so many lawsuits in the US.

Or to put it in plain English: “Lawyer claims deep-pocketed party to blame for client’s ills.”

Why are we giving any credibility from the guy who stands to gain millions from making the Vatican look guilty?
 
In more normal countries there is statue of limitations. After 50 years the truth can not be investigated properly.

Mr. Anderson is a master of publicity.
 
Jeffrey Anderson is a multimillionaire ambulance chaser. Anderson is a Minneapolis based attorney who scours the USA looking for people who claim to have been abused by priests. The lapse of time, the statute of limitations and the veracity of the accusers matter not to Jeffrey Anderson. What matters to Jeffrey Anderson is how much more money Jeffrey Anderson can put into his pockets.

Anderson should be compelled to answer why he does not scour the USA searching for victims of abuse from teachers, etc. Most likely it is because he can’t stuff his pockets suing local and state governments.

I do not make light of child abuse. When I was nine, someone I knew attempted such abuse on me. By the grace of God, I was not a victim.
