Hello friends!
Can anyone recommend a good text on the life of the wonderful St Philip?
Whilst in Rome I had the blessing of being able to attend the Holy Mass celebrated upon an altar over his sarcophagus, in the Chiesa Nuova, not so far from St Peters. He is an awesome Priest. When some children were making lots of noise nearby, someone complained to St Philip, who said ‘they can chop wood on my back for all I care, so long as they do not sin!’ 🙂

here is a short article about his Priesthood, from the Homiletic and Pastoral Review.

blessed be jesus!

Perhaps you have an congregation of Oratorians close to you. These were founded by St. Philip and are immersed in his spirituality. Here is the website of the ones who are closest to me: oratory-toronto.org/spn_oratory.html
There is some information about St. Philip on the site as well as a contact address. They may be able to answer questions you have about him or good resources to learn more.

thank you friends, yes i saw those books yesterday I will pick one up. and thanks for the website, I will have a look. There are not any Oratories in Scotland, perhaps there will be one in the future!
Blessed be JEsus!

I’m guessing the Birmingham Oratory is closest to you, which is not very close at all. But maybe you could email them.
