Does anyone else pray to, or ask for the intercession of this being? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raphael_%28archangel%29

I recently have been involved in devotions to him, after I was researching the angels. He seems like a very kind and helpful being, far removed from my preconceived notion of angels as being kind and moral, but somewhat cold and removed ( kind of like the elves from LOTR.)

Raphael (and likely all angels) seems genuinely fond of the human race and its trials and tribulations ( as evidenced by his road trip with Tobias, and deliverance of Sarah in the book of Tobit)

Its the strangest thing. He is the patron of happy meetings and healing. Whenever I address him… I feel sort of an interested, curious, and kindhearted presence.

Does anyone else pray to this angel… or have any close encouters with him?

I’ve often thought more attention should be given to Rafael! What a wonderful saint for parents to turn to when praying for our children - he gave Tobit’s son guidance, protection, knowledge, and fought an evil spirit.

Here are some notes I took recently after reading Tobit again:
  • Raphael is one of the 7 angels who enter and serve before the Glory of the Lord
  • When Raphael came to Tobit, “it was not out of any favor on my part, but because it was God’s will.”
  • When Tobit and Sarah prayed, it was Raphael who “presented and read the record of their prayer before the Glory of the Lord”
  • When Tobit used to bury the dead, Raphael also presented the record before the Glory of the Lord
  • Raphael was sent to put Tobit to the test, and at the same time God commissioned him to heal Tobit and Sarah

All angels serve the Lord.
