A Protestant co-worker, who generally knows his stuff very well especially Church history (even pre-Reformation) said something I know can’t be right. He happened to see the background on my computer, which depicts St Michael and has the St Michael prayer (got it from Lifeteen website a couple awhile back) and he asked me if I thought Raphael should be an archangel. “Huh? He is,” I said. “No, he used to be but he got demoted, he’s just an angel now,” he said. I asked him when that happened and he said years ago. I was perusing the Internet to look it up, and was reminded that 29 September is the feast day for Sts Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, archangels, which I should have remembered. So I know I’m right, and I told him. He didn’t believe me, I told him that’s how it is in the Catholic Church, and said he wants to see it. Anybody know of a good official (if there is one) source I can show him?
