St. Rita is the coolest! :)

Hi, everyone! I just wanted to publicly share how amazing St. Rita is. I’ve prayed her novena for impossible cases twice now recently, and both times she has answered my prayers - dramatically!! Here’s the novena, if anyone’s in need of it:

O Holy Patroness of those in need, Saint Rita, whose pleadings before thy Divine Lord are almost irresistable, who for thy lavishness in granting favors hast been called the Advocate of the hopeless and even of the Impossible; Saint Rita, so humble, so pure, so mortified, so patient and of compassionate love for thy Crucified Jesus that thou couldst obtain from him whatsoever thou askest, on account of which all confidently have recourse to thee, expecting, if not always relief, at least comfort; be propitious to our petition, showing thy power with God on behalf of thy suppliant; be lavish to us, as thou hast been in so many wonderful cases, for the greater glory of God, for the spreading of thine own devotion, and for the consolation of those who trust in thee.

We promise, if our petition is granted, to glorify thee by making known thy favor, to bless and sing thy praises forever. Relying then upon thy merits and power before the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we pray thee grant that (REQUEST). Obtain for us our request by the singular merits of thy childhood, thy perfect union with the Divine Will, thy heroic sufferings during thy married life, the consolation thou didst experience at the conversion of thy husband, the sacrifice of thy children rather than see them grievously offend God, thy miraculous entrance into the convent, thy severe penances and thrice daily bloody scourgings, thy suffering caused by the wound thou didst receive from the thorn of thy Crucified Saviour, thy divine love which consumed thy heart, that remarkable devotion to the Blessed Sacrament on which alone thou didst exist for four years, the happiness with which thou didst part from thy trials to join thy Divine Spouse, the perfect example thou gavest to people of every state of life.

Pray for us, O holy Saint Rita, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen.

Agreed. St. Rita is the coolest … female saint.

Yes, I firmly believe that her prayers helped bring about good medical test results for my dad.
 
My son went off the deep end when he was 13. Before that, priests told me when he served as an altar boy, parishioners thought he was a saint in making.

He went in the opposite direction. We pulled him out of parochial school. He got his GED, up and down in achievements. His IQ was tested, about 99.3% and this indicated that he had some of the same issues savants have. I began praying to St. Rita 16 years ago, the saint of impossible cases.

I thought he would change when he watched a movie about a baseball player who came into a town that venerated St.Rita in their own way and I thought then she could be working and a change imminent. It didn’t happen.

Anyway, I planted a rose in the garden that has his name, and it has been my prayer rose. I had this particular flower for about 24 years, even before we moved here, as a prayer rose for him.

Anyway, this May 22, St. Rita’s feast day, my son now age age 29…checked into the hospital. We thought he would die for abusing his body. He had been in and out of hospitals.

So on Rita’s feast day, May 22, he saw the source of his problems and was turning away from self-destruction. That same day the rose in my garden came into bloom. And then when he got home, recuperating in his bed, a swarm of honey bees and bumble bees with unusual colored legs, appeared outside his room next to the slider. There was some water that had pooled on a wrap, and for some reason they were attracted to it. St.Rita is also associated with bees.

After so many years of seeing him go the other way, we do see a definite turn around. He is still not returning to church yet. He met an Orthodox girl who lives around the world, but is sharing friendship with him.

I do thank St. Rita for all her prayers and continue to pray to her for his total recovery and return to the Church.

That’s really neat! And her feast day is when my moms birthday was.
 
St Rita is the best! I chose her as my confirmation name on May 19th 2013…And I couldn’t have chosen a better saint…except Blessed Mother. 🙂 God Bless!
 
I read some where that she learned so much theology by just gazing at the crucifix.
