I was wondering if any of you know of a place online (bookstore or otherwise) where I can find the following works by St. Robert Bellarmine:
The Disputations (his great apologetic work against Protestants)
De Romano Pontificis (a book written on the temporal and spiritual power of the Pope).
Christian Doctrine (I’m not sure of the exact title, but it is a catechism that the Jesuits used for years all over the world).
The reason I ask is because many people in traditional circles use Bellarmine’s writings to justify their own positions. Much of what I hear is quoted out of context and while there are translations of portion of these works, I am not sure that excerpts will work. I guess I’m one of those people that the needs the whole in order to understand the parts.
Also, Bellarmine’s works seem to be relatively scarce. Aside from the works that were translated in the Classics of Western Spirituality Series, I haven’t really found much of anything except pamphlets here and there. Also, my Latin is not good enough for me to read Bellarmine’s writings.
Anyway, if any of you know of a place where I can find these. Please let me know.
