She is an excellent saint companion for single persons living a celibate life of service to others.
She looked after the poor and the sick, growing herbs in her garden to make medicines to treat them. She was recognized throughout the city for her care of the sick.
Though her parents wished another way of life for her, she managed to honour them through obedience, while prayerfully pursuing her vocation, and eventually persuading them to agree.

I think she was a bit of a nutcase. Not a good role model for me. That’s why we have all sorts of saints; some appeal, some do not.
