St Therese Answered my Prayer?

Hi Guys,
I’m new to the forum, so please excuse me if I’m not posting this in the right thread… but it seemed like the best fit.

St. Therese has always been my favorite saint, and in the past when I was very small, I prayed to her for a baby brother (my mom and dad were having trouble conceiving again), and shortly after my personal prayers, we went to a new age type store to get some incense (they sold the kind the church had) and she came out with a huge vase of roses talking about St. Therese, which considering where we were… was strange. Several days later, my mom announced she was pregnant, and with a boy

Ever since then I’ve been a huge believer in novenas to St Therese, and that she will answer your prayers in time… Fast forward and I’m married for 5 years to a wonderful man, we were married in the church… but I didn’t do things the right way at first and we had relations before we got married. He was my first and last, obviously

Because of that I got pregnant shortly before our marriage in the church, but suffered a horrible miscarriage. It took me months to get over the pain and turmoil I felt from that, I still get upset now… but since then we have desperately tried for a child with NO results. It’s 4 years… we’ve both been tested (the right way) and nothing is wrong. He has two children from a previous civil marriage (which we had annulled) and he converted to the faith before we married. I tested myself, and all possible tests came back fine. So it’s been 4 years with nothing. I prayed to St. Therese every day for I don’t know how long, and nothing… but today I had a dentist appointment and when I was in the chair I noticed she was wearing a necklace with a magnifying jewel on it. So you have to squint to see what’s inside… and I noticed that it was a worn photograph of St. Therese holding roses… I immediately asked her if it was St. Therese and she was shocked… saying I was the only one who knew that outside of one other person in the 20 years she’d been wearing it. She said she had been praying for a sign, and my recognizing of it was her sign. At the risk of sounding very “genie granting” I don’t want to come across like I only believe in signs… because I realize my prayers are heard regardless… but it just seemed very strange to me to see that in her necklace… not to mention that if I had shook her hand and seen it on her from standing height, I never would’ve known what it was… I had to be in that precise position leaning back in the chair to even see it right. Then shortly after, I went to my parents home and as I walked in the door my brother had an image of Therese taped to his laptop (which was never there before). So today I’m kind of on a happy high - hoping that these are signs she’s listening and maybe going to come through for me…

My favorite St. Therese moment was when I had a prayer answered, and about five minutes later, I went to go pick up the mail. There in my mail was some envelope from an order of nuns who had St. Therese as a patron. Her picture was on the envelope. It was like, “OK! Here’s my bill!”

One of the things I find useful is when I encounter something that makes me think of someone, I say a little prayer of gratitude. “Thanks for taking care of me”, or “You’re awesome; you’ve done so much”, or something along those lines. That keeps me from the temptation of reading the wrong interpretation, and keeps me safely in a nice, careful, “God’s-will-be-done”-mode. It all works out for the best in the end, but I try hard to keep a course of “joyful trust”, especially in the most difficult situations.

Thats great to hear Catie sings! Saint Therese said during her life that she wanted to spend her heaven doing good on earth and helps the people who pray to her a lot! If these are signs we cannot really know but even if they’re not it’s great to experience that other people love Therese as well and like you say: your prayers are always heard by her anyway.

I have had great experiences with Therese’s help as well in my life and she still helps me a lot! I can assure you she loves helping us so just keep on praying!!
