St. Therese Novena

Today marks day seven of the the novena I’ve been praying to St. Therese. I think that she has a real sense of humor! I went to the grocery store after mass to buy some things for breakfast. As I parked, I saw a man leaving with a bunch of flowers and thought to myself how it’d be nice to have some fresh flowers for the house, but how my husband would not be pleased with such a frivolous purchase. I walked in the store where the flowers are located, but decided against buying any and didn’t give it another thought. When I finished checking out the attendant pointed beside her and said, “We have some fresh flowers here for free. Please take a bunch if you’d like some!” Not being one to turn down fresh, FREE flowers, I sorted through them and picked out a beautiful bunch of pink roses. I got home, prepared them in a vase, and placed them on our coffee table. I then sat down to drink my coffee and read the church bulletin as I do every Sunday after mass. It wasn’t until I started reading the bulletin that I looked up at the roses and thought, “HUH! Could it be that St. Therese tricked me into picking my own roses as a sign of her hearing my intentions?” Then I just smiled and chuckled.

She has responded my prayers before but never with me picking my own roses! Has this happened to anyone else? What are your stories of St. Therese sending you roses?

I had a dear friend who was sent to a mental hospital after a bad bout.
She was devastated by being separated from her children, whom I taught.
The day she was to be released, I left school on my lunch break and bought some roses fro her littlest daughter to carry to her mama. I told the child not to tell her mother where they came from.
Turns out, the woman had been praying to St. Therese for a good outcome and early release. She was delighted with the roses, and never had to go back there.

I had been making a novena to St. Therese, and one day during the novena I was sitting at my kitchen table and my ten year old son walked in and said “Look at this beautiful rose I just found in the street”, and gave it to me.

I was surprised, and it was beautiful as it was deep red and velvety to the touch. Needless to say my prayer was answered!

I am so pleased to hear this!! I also have prayed the St Therese novena. I normally study outside because it’s hard for me to concentrate inside and as I was in the garden I had this huge sadness fall upon me as I started to lack faith and as I looked up from where I was sitting, there was a HUGE single red rose growing in the garden when there weren’t suppose to be any roses because it’s winter! I doubted for a second that it was my sign however at that moment two beautiful white birds flew in the sky (as they are generally a good sign for me) and I knew that this was my rose. I still have the petals…

And it reminds me that before St. Therese died she said that she would spend her heaven doing good on earth…and that she would let fall a shower of roses. They are still coming!

What fantastic stories! St. Therese is my confirmation saint, so I feel very close to her whenever I ask for her intercession. I love hearing about her showering roses on those who pray to her.
