I’ve been spending some time considering my Confirmation name and this weekend I am feeling strongly that it should be St Therese…including several instances of coming across roses this weekend <3

Anyone else have her as their Patroness? I’m curious to hear anything anyone feels led to share with me as I further discern. 🙂

St. Therese is a wonderful saint to have as your patroness. I have called on her intercession many times and have never been disappointed.

Teresa of Avila is who I identify with, but I think St. Therese is wonderful!

She is my patroness, and because I am an ordinary person leading an ordinary and boring life, I appreciate her plain, simple, trusting down to earth spirituality.

It only seems boring to you. The Enemy wants fireworks (surprise 😉 )
We, as Catholics, are called to witnessing ordinary things/circumstances 🙂

Oh, I am not complaining. I am retired now, and boring is just what I need for now after a career as an ICU/trauma/PACU nurse. It took me a while to adjust to the lack of almost daily drama and crisis, but boring is fine with me now. If I want fireworks, I’ll go visit a few relatives or ask my husband to help me clean the house. 😃

I chose her for my confirmation as well. Unfortunately I was poorly catechized and didn’t understand the purpose of the patron saint or the meaning of the sacrament, but I had just read her story and loved it so much that I chose her. Her novena is my absolute favorite and she has “showered me with roses” twice now.

The first time was in high school. I did the novena asking for intercession that I would do well on my final exams. It was in May, around mother’s day. During the novena my friend’s mom gave me a white rose from the bouquet her kids got her for mother’s day. She said she felt like sharing it with me. I hadn’t shared with her that I was doing the novena, though I told her about that years later. It was at that point I was made very aware of the power of prayer and the intercession of the saints.

You can read the second time she showered me with roses on this thread.

She is a wonderful example of humility and true love for Christ!

“Little Therese” will take care of you like a sister.
