Wouldn’t expect you to send any half-way round the world. I guess I can use my trusty Rosary as a substitute 🙂

I’ve done the third day. Yes, I understand now that God’s will is love for us and desiring it is the sure path to peace and happiness with the Indwelling God. ❤️

My intentions have changed - my intent for the novena now is to know that God loves me and to be converted to Him and to love Him & for the conversion of my family to God and His Love - and the rose if that’s ok.

I’ll keep letting you guys know how the novena goes. 🙂 :gopray:

I did the 7th day yesterday and have finished the 8th day today. 1 day to go it seems.
 
You know, I used to not care for St. Therese at all. When I was a kid, the way she was presented was so sweetie poo, that I thought I was being drowned in sugar water. But then I read her own writings and some good biographies of her and did a total turn around. I found a woman with good common sense, a deep love of God and not sugary sweet in the least little bit. Her spirituality is simple and very accessible. Not very many of us can do Great Things, but we can all do small things as best we can for the love of God.

I think the only reason ppl find her to be “sweetie poo” is because they don’t understand what love is. They think love is erotic, “mushy”, nice feelings in your tummy, holding hands, smelling flowers etc … but love is quiet the opposite. It is hard. Very hard. It requires determination, sacrifice, endurance and a will or iron. I think that’s why love is the narrow way that leads to heaven, many ppl can do fasts and penance but love is so much harder because it requires so much more of yourself, to the point where you have to say “I no longer exist” - but God who lives and loves in me. That’s my view of it anyways 🙂

It is obvious that you have been tried by fire and found worthy. I have rarely heard a better description of God’s Love. I wish I could have your understanding of this Love.

May God continue to work through you to do His will.

I love St Therese one of my favourite saints part of the reason I love the book Divine Intimacy…because I am little and not very bright but she expounded on the virtue of learn a little and love a lot…that is a tremendous consolation…
 
I have finished the novena, and I have no rose. I do not think I will be getting one.

I have read all the many testimonies of ppl who did get their rose (and even got to pick its color!), so I am wondering why they got one and I didn’t 🤷

Well, I have done what I set out to do. My previous confidence seems foolish now that the novena is over but at least no-one can say I didn’t have confidence 😉

I prayed, I hoped, I tried. Oh well.

I will share a small story here.
My wife has Alzheimers. Each month I note the changes in her. She is a woman who, in her life, raised 5 children by herself; got a nursing degree, spent 25 years as a psych nurse, even running entire psych units; Got her BS and MBA. Now she cannot add up a short row of numbers, keeps asking me the same questions etc.
She is the most beautiful spirit I have ever known and it tears me apart watching this happen to her.

I pray for her healing. I prayed a novena to St Theresa a couple of months ago. I received no rose. My lady is not healed. But my prayer was answered. One day (about the 7th day of the novena I think) I was mowing the grass, and above the noise of the mower in my head I heard clearly a voice saying,
“She is mine. I will take care of her.”
I felt a peace I hadn’t felt in months. I tried to ask further but that was all, “She is mine. I will take care of her.”

I still pray for her healing - because I can’t help myself - but I also pray for God’s will in my life and in hers. I have complete confidence that she has been forgiven for anything she might have done and will be with Him when her time comes.

Sometimes the answers aren’t what we expect.

I completed the novena as well. I don’t expect to get a rose either (at least not right away). I’ve received roses in the past at the right time so I am not concerned about this at all. In fact I don’t know where it is written that one is supposed to get a rose immediately after the novena was done. Please do not give up on prayer and on the communion of the saints. 🙂

I have finished the Holy Spirit Novena, and I believe that you have got and will be getting something else more valuable than a rose you wanted. 🙂

I hope so, my intentions were conversion to God and to love Him and to know if St Therese can hear me and will be my friend. I have got no rose.

This past April, I prayed the Little Flower Novena. I received 6 red roses at the end, and the thing I asked for intercession came true.
The thing I was praying for was out of our own control.

I am on my fifth day of Little Flower Novena today, and I just received 6 red roses. I put the roses in front of the Divine Mercy picture of Jesus as usual.

St. Therese is my favorite Saint. And she is the confirmation patron Saint of the person I am praying for.

I am very encouraged. Thank you St. Therese and thank you dear Lord.

I don’t always receive a rose, sometimes it’s just that I see them. I take that as confirmation she is listening!
