You received 6 roses - many others can even pick what color they get - then why won’t she give me one?

My wife and I did a 9 day novena the St. Therese about a job prospect. We had a few rose’s here and there for a while, then 3-5 weeks later at Sunday Mass there was a dozen rose’s as a center peice at the alter base and 3-4 rose’s at the statues of Mary and St. Joseph. She got the call for the job that Monday. Uglygal, ever think of placing rose’s at a statue of Mary Dec. 8th for the feast. Tim

I know for a fact she listens. I know others who have gotten answers from her as well. St. Terese is awesome! It isn’t always the answer you are looking for but she is definitely listening! I always find comfort in that even if the results aren’t what I originally wanted. I can also tell you this, when a door has been closed for me I eventually see why it was closed and I thank God for protecting me!
That’s lovely but I don’t get that at all.

You mean get myself a rose?
No, but your prayer request requires your cooperation with grace as well and you might find a trade off. Consider it a sign of your love. I’m sure the Lord will be reciprocal to you. Tim

First of all, what we ask of God is not always His will for us. We have to be open for that when we pray to Him or through the saints. I have been fortunate to have some requests turned down and later discovered why or felt grateful the answer was no.

I prayed a novena to St. Terese when I was trying to buy a house. Everything was falling into place but I was so afraid I was getting in debt way over my head. I’m a single mom and had 2 children in daycare - get no help at all from their dad. I went into the chapel to pray my novena one day and on my way out, saw the florist who was changing out the flowers in the chapel. I commented on how beautiful the flowers always were and she gave me 3 yellow roses. Needless to say, I took that as confirmation we would be ok. And here we are in our house of 3 years!

Oddly enough I received an email today from a protestant friend with a large picture of Our Lady of Guadaloupe. Surprisingly enough it is also on Catholic Exchange website today. Now maybe I’m grasping at straws, but I know that another name for Our Lady is Mystical Rose.

It’s been a while. I believe that St Therese did not hear me and does not want to be my friend. Whenever I hear that she has never been known to fail, at least I will now that is not true.
This matter is finished for me.

Don’t be ridiculous - how many years did Abraham patiently wait for the son that he and Sarah were no doubt fervently praying for throughout their marriage? How many centuries did Israel have to wait for the Messiah for whom so many must have prayed so fervently?

Are you saying God wasn’t Abraham’s friend because He didn’t jump when Abraham clicked his fingers? Or that He didn’t love Israel because Jesus didn’t appear the first (or ninth, or nine thousandth) time someone prayed for His coming?

Of course He heard them, and answered them. And St Therese heard you and you will be answered (maybe you have been already and don’t know it). And for you to judge that she failed you - after such a miniscule amount of time - shows an extreme misunderstanding of the nature of prayer.

It strikes me as a childish attitude to have - as if God, St Therese, or any other saint is a vending machine, stick in the right coins and a chocolate bar/rose/fullblown spiritual conversion will automatically materialise. :nope:

That’s your opinion. This matter is finished for me.
So St Therese didn’t jump through hoops for you and you’re finished? I’m sure both she and God aren’t finished with YOU yet - not till your last breath. And surely it’s His say when things are finished, not yours.

I will share a small story here.
My wife has Alzheimers. Each month I note the changes in her. She is a woman who, in her life, raised 5 children by herself; got a nursing degree, spent 25 years as a psych nurse, even running entire psych units; Got her BS and MBA. Now she cannot add up a short row of numbers, keeps asking me the same questions etc.
She is the most beautiful spirit I have ever known and it tears me apart watching this happen to her.

I pray for her healing. I prayed a novena to St Theresa a couple of months ago. I received no rose. My lady is not healed. But my prayer was answered. One day (about the 7th day of the novena I think) I was mowing the grass, and above the noise of the mower in my head I heard clearly a voice saying,
“She is mine. I will take care of her.”
I felt a peace I hadn’t felt in months. I tried to ask further but that was all, “She is mine. I will take care of her.”

I still pray for her healing - because I can’t help myself - but I also pray for God’s will in my life and in hers. I have complete confidence that she has been forgiven for anything she might have done and will be with Him when her time comes.

Sometimes the answers aren’t what we expect.

Peace
James
James,

Your story here is beautiful. Your wife lived a wonderful life, now she’ll be greeted by St. Theresa when her time comes and will be made aware of your intention.

My Dad was diagnosed with Alzheimers, I’m sure my sister , brother and I are in for quite a journey ahead.

Prayers to you and your wife James.

Well Godbless you and help you, for when I was torn between two lovers and I wished for God to reveal Himself to me it took some 25 years for God to find the right time and place to reveal himself to me, how i always thought He might be.

But I had to come out of the shell stop thinking self, “you know, poor me” and when I did let go let God, then it all came into place.

My thoughts were not that Godly before. However, St Therese showed herself often to me and it was when ***I ***had changed, got out of self. Then it all happened.
Godbless you are in my prayers we all have our times and we all feel the love of God at times.
