I’ve been asking St Therese for my lifepartner ever since I can remember. The last time I did ask her was last April 2014. I asked her when I already have in my life the person I will marry and that we are already in each others lives, I specifically requested for my good friend to send me a white and red rose at the same time and for me not to miss out on it when given to me as a clear and definite sign that this person and I already know eachother. Last June, I was reading thru an email from a “potential” partner and it was the 1st time this person ever declared feelings of love for me and right exactly after reading that email, a good friend of mine sent me an email with St Therese holding white and red roses pic and she told me that she just had the urge to send that pic to me out of all pics she found and it had to be on that day. Quite honestly, it coincided with that email that potential partner sent me. When I rang my friend to tell her just what happened was excited and told me to hang on to this one and get to know this person better. True enough until now we’re still getting to know eachother well and our friendship is getting stronger by the day. In my heart and mind, I’m really thinking and feeling this is the one and it’s just a matter of timing.

What are your thoughts on this? The sign by St Therese was clear as water.

I think I would discuss this with a priest. I am always leery of basing decisions especially for a spouse on these types of spiritual experiences in asking for “signs”. It’s not that this isn’t the one for you or you for him but you need to really base who you are going to marry and a number of bigger things than what you have shared here. I do know of stories where people married or rushed into it based on what they thought “God told them” only the find out after being married that it was more emotions and spiritual fluff and the relationship ended in divorce because it wasn’t based on reality. Don’t let your emotions and desires cloud your judgement if red flags start popping up in this. There is a difference between email/internet relationships and real face to face ones and you need to base your decision on who you are going to marry on the real one not the internet relationship.

I love St. Therese, too.

Seems like a very strong confirmation to me. Remember, too, that God confirms it in two people hearts as well.

Take your time, however, and don’t rush.

I have a very strong love for St. Therese. I don’t know exactly why I have this feeling, but she has sent me a number of roses and her intercessory help has been invaluable.

I too believe that you should take your time and watch for “red flags”.

Thank you all for your responses! We’re both actually enjoying the friendship and if ever things develop into something more in the future then it is God’s will. I was very surprised when I was given the actual sign and how it was given to me, as I had requested it.

A friendship that is true is something priceless. Tend it well and thank God for it.

It sounds to me that this was a sign that you are moving in the right direction. St. Therese did hear your prayers and the pic was no coincidence. You asked, you received.

That said, keep open to the Holy Spirit to see how things unfold with this new friend of yours. God will grant your request in His timing and in His way and you will not be disappointed with the outcome. Here are a few scriptures on which to meditate.

Proverbs 16:3, “Entrust your works to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.”

Romans 5:5, “Hope does not disappoint.”

Sirach 2:10, “Consider the generations long past and see: has anyone trusted in the Lord and been disappointed? Has anyone persevered in his fear and been forsaken? has anyone called upon him and been ignored?”

I hope you find these verses encouraging.

Thanks again. I’ve actually two prospects for a potential soulmate. One is here where I am at and the other overseas (the one who coincided with the sign). The one who is here I’ve so many things in common with and it even seems like a very good match, and I am so baffled as to why I have this “internal” block when it comes to this person despite the commonalities, despite we’re both single, we get along quite well and other things. As opposed to the one I’ve never met, the one overseas who is totally different from me but who I am so drawn to. On top of it all, everytime I pray to St Therese for reassurance about this one who is overseas, she really gives it to me countless times proven.

About the one here, I really don’t know why my gut tells me otherwise when this person is perfect for me but for some reason it never did progress.

About your one here, this is a clear sign to drop this prospect at this time. God wants to give you His best. So, please don’t settle, especially if your gut is telling you “no.” It’s not critical that you know why your gut tells you this. If God wills that the one near you and you be together, He will inspire mutual desire for both of you at the right time and in the right circumstances.

Please be at peace and focus your attention on the one overseas.

I pray for you as you discern this.
