It’s one of the first religious books I read on my own and still one of the best I’ve read. I absolutely fell in love with St. Therese while reading it. If this book won’t make you want to be a better person, nothing will. At the same time, it shows how human she was, and in her own words. I can’t understand why this isn’t required reading in every Catholic school.
 
I agree. It would be nice if it is a required reading in a catholic school.

I can’t understand why there aren’t any Catholic books that are required reading in Catholic schools. At least, that’s been my experience. My school assigned the same books the kids were reading in public schools, and our kids’ schools have done the same. I’m not saying they should all have to read Thomas Aquinas or anything like that, but something as meaningful and accessible as St. Therese should be required reading at some point by the time the kids reach 8th grade. I think it would be perfect for kids preparing for Confirmation.
