St. Valentine's Day ideas

I was thinking about St. Valentine’s Day today and realized how I want to do something really special for my husband this year that not only celebrates how much he means to me and how blessed our marriage is, but also one that ties into celebrating our Catholic faith.

As secular as this day is now, I still appreciate it as a day to take time apart from our busy lives and celebrate marriage … and this year, I feel compelled to celebrate it more so than the past.

I’ve been trying to come up with some unique ideas, and nothing really seems to say “ah, ha” for me. …so I thought I’d start a thread here to see if anyone has any creative and dynamic ideas to celebrate this day.

Any thoughts/ideas would be awesome!! 🙂

This Valentine’s Day, my Mom and my three sisters and I have decided to all give each other little presents. Sadly, the men in the family are rather unromantic :rolleyes: so I know they won’t be giving anything to my Mom, who really does deserve something!

I have a good idea, but it depends on how sentimental your husband is. One thing you could try is taking a little box and decorating it. Then you take a piece of paper and rip of 365 little strips. On each strip, write something you love about your husband. When you are done, crumble them into a ball, or fold them. Then put them in the box, and give it to her your husband. It is daily reminder of how much you love him! 🙂

I think I may combine them, too … perhaps write out a couple’s prayer for us (that we can continue to pray each day) with where we are in our lives and put that on the decorated box of the 365 notes! 🙂
