Hi everyone,

Very often I commit the sin of sloth by wasting my precious weekend in aimless Youtubing instead of cherishing my time and study or read spiritual books. Then, looking at my clock knowing that holiday is going to end soon, I feel guilty of not doing small things right and fight for Jesus. How can I stand up again after falling and rise from the ground just as how Jesus did when carrying the Cross?

Thank you.

Set aside some time for prayer, reading spiritual books, etc. like a couple hours on Sunday. Also make sure you meet your Mass obligation.

Then, realize that it’s okay to spend your other spare time doing other things, like Youtubing, that relax you.

You need some time to rest. If you approach religion as “I must spend all of my spare time studying and reading spiritual books or else I’m committing sloth”, that’s the wrong attitude.

Even a righteous man falls seven times a day.

When figure out how to conquer sloth, please tell me.

If you’re on youtube anyway, maybe look at some Catholic content. Some of the best youtube channels (in my opinion) are Catholic Answers, EWTN, Bishop Robert Barron, and Sensus Fidelium.

Even monks have leisure time.
There’s great CAhtolic videos on YouTube
Check out busted halo. Good content, and often very amusing.

Why not join a volunteer group on the weekend, or go and play sport. Do you like running, swimming, cycling, any of the football sports, self defence, . Volunteer groups include soup kitchens, st vinnies, food pantries, op shops, the list goes on.
