SIGN THE PROTEST AGAINST THIS FILTH!!!

Press reports say “The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told” refers to Our Lady as a lesbian. It presents a homosexual version of the Old Testament, with scenes of “Adam and Steve” in full frontal nudity.

According to The New York Times, the playwright himself is a homosexual, and this is how he describes his play: “I wanted the Garden of Eden in Central Park, and Mary as a lesbian mother, which would certainly help me comprehend immaculate conception.”
(The New York Times, 12/06/98)

The outright blasphemous, offensive and degrading content of the play puts it outside of any authentic artistic expression worthy of higher learning.

According to City Pages: “Contrary to church doctrine, the Virgin Mary turns out to be a flaky lesbian… Adam, Steve, and company have gathered in a Chelsea loft to celebrate Christmas and a second immaculate conception.” (City Pages, 01/19/00)

Ay, what filth man conceives. We have come so far from perfection. Man; an interesting creature indeed.

Wow. What a slap in the face not only to Our Lady, but to the whole Blessed Trinity.

I saw a story about Mary Magdalene and Jesus coming from one soul and that they “incarnated” together…they were “soul mates”. It was ridiculous.

Blessed Mother I love you! :gopray2:

Is this what people do when they get bored? 😃

Evidently and what’s sad is that someone told me that they LOVED the book and that it “explains” so much about why Jesus and Mary “fell in love”??? I tried to talk to her but she was just not hearing anything that ruined her “fantasy”.

Well, we know that some people love fantasies rather than realities.

I don’t want to sign the protest because this piece of junk doesn’t deserve any attention whatsoever. I’m sure nothing would please the author more than the controversy stirred up by such protests. I shall ignore it.

On one hand, I want to agree with you. Something like this is probably the result of a juvenile cry for attention. The author is specifically writing this so that he can giggle to himself about how clever he was to get all the Catholics angry about this.

However, on the other hand, I feel like we can’t be silent about something like this. If we allow people to outright bash our beliefs like this, who knows how far they will go? They have every right to speak their beliefs, but not in a way that is disrespectful to others, which this clearly is.

Also, if this was done with ANY other faith, especially Islam or Judaism, people would be up in arms, crying about how this is disrespectful and an attack on their faith. But bashing Catholicism? That seems to get a free pass in the “Tolerate everyone’s beliefs” mantra.

The Holy Mother already has all the protection she could ever need. Any mother with a loving and fiercely protective son will understand the analogy.

What we do not need is to publicize this outrage. To be honest, I have not read all the details for the same reason: to avoid contaminating my mind. I suggest that this is the appropriate response.

What I don’t get is why anyone would want to buy into the old greek and roman mythology of gods taking advantage of human mates.

I’m sorry, I just can’t buy into a tacky vision of Jesus in an Israeli ale-house going “hey baby, I’m God, can I get yo numba?”

Maybe they like soap operas so much that they want to see God star in a teledrama?🤷

Haha wow it does not surprise me that this play was put on at my campus last semester. Ah typical.

I will just ignore these folks. They want attention. Why give them exactly what they want?
