I sometimes attend this church where I live, that remainds standing after the agnus dei and remainds standing while waiting for communion. No other church in my parish does this, there fore i always kneel. Do they need special permission from the bishop to do this?s

I’m pretty sure even the Bishop isn’t allowed to do this to the Liturgy. I mean please, your bout to be physically and spiritually in union with the Savior and you wanna stand up…for shame (not you, them).

The bishop of Lansing,Mi, apparently has “requested” unity(?) of those at Mass, and allowed, or requested or whatever, the standing till after communion.

It cannot be mandated by him or by the pastor (who does not agree with this bone-head idea), and has little or no support from most Catholics. However, this particular parish had a rather weak former pastor, and the “good-ole-folks” on the different commissions are the real problem in so far as they were exercising thier spirit of VatII and becoming more involved.

Active Participation never meant for these liberties. It means a more concentrated, devotional, and spiritual intensity in the celebration of the Mass.

Many continue to kneel, and trust that Benedict XVI to set these abuses straight.

You are mistaken, the ordinary does have such authority.
Should people stand or kneel during the eucharistic prayer?
This is answered in the General Instruction of the Roman Missal, number 43:
Code:
...In the Diocese of the United States of America, they should kneel beginning after the singing or recitation of the Sanctus until after the Amen of the Eucharistic Prayer, except when prevented on occasion by reasons of health, lack of space, the large number of people present or some other good reason. Those who do not kneel ought to make a profound bow when the priest genuflects after the consecration. The faithful kneel after the Agnus Dei unless the diocesan Bishop determines otherwise.

Then I apologise dear brother/sister. However is it the most appropriate thing to do (save when health says you shouldn’t)?

No need to apologize.

I don’t know that my opinion holds much sway with the USCCB nor the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, but personally I think it is laudable and holy that the bishops allow us in the US to kneel through the whole of the Eucharistic Prayer, following the Agnus Dei, and after Communion.

Do they need special permission of the Bishop? Well it is one of the few things left up to the local Bishop. To me it makes perfect sense to stand from the Lamb of God until you receive Holy Communion. Upon returning to your pew you may stand, sit or kneel that is up to you.

But to your concern. I would stand along with everyone else and then kneel after I return to my pew.
