Standing crucifix which one?

Hi on my prayer table I have a plain wood standing curfix and it’s not a catholic one just plain . In my church the have a little shop and there is a smaller one and it catholic it’s more illustrated its in colour if u know what I mean so do u think I should change it ?

Whatever inspires you to holiness. That is a very personal decision.

Not sure what you mean though by a non-Catholic crucifix. Do you mean a plain cross without a corpus (body of Christ)?

Okay thanks - yes a plain one with no corpse , I think the smaller more illstrated is more inspiring rather than a plain boring one
 
If the “cross” has no corpus then it is not a crucifix but a cross. Catholics use a crucifix.

It has come to represent Catholics. The forms of the crucifix are many. Google eastern Catholic crucifixes and you see many different but beautiful types. Same within the western (Roman) Catholic church.

lol that made me smile 🙂 i assume your not a convert too the Catholic faith, there called cross’s if theres no Body of Jesus on the Cross (btw i prefur Crucifix’s myself) God bless
 
Hi all thanks yep u got it in one ! And yes I have a standing cross but I’m thinking I should get a standing curcufix because it’s more detailed and catholic lol 🙂

if you mean a crucifix, a cross with the figure of the crucified Christ, that is almost Catholic by definition as most Protestant denominations do not use that form but would only accept a plain cross. So I am not sure what you are asking. There is no requirement that the corpus be painted or any particular color. Look at churches around you.
 
I know that I just dunno which one and the plain cross is more protestant and the curfix are much nicer ! 🙂
 
Just keep looking and shop online too, you will find one that moves you and you will know it’s the right one for you.

I had a friend say one time – “Crucifixion was a common form of punishment, they crucified people all the time!! If there is no Jesus on that cross, how do you know it was His? It could have been anyone’s!!” 😃

I beleive, that if you show threw devotion to the Cross,it can be plan or with Jesus attacted to it,I,am Cathole,and I have a plan one that stands, than I have four others, that have Jesus on them on the walls, on ever room. I have a Big wooden Cross in my Bed room next to me so I can look at my LORD while laying in my bed.And when I go to Church I knell before a Big Cross and pray. what counts is that you show Love to the Cross that Jesus died on for us.
