Hi all!

My husband is a huge Trekkie (is that how you spell it?) and asked for Star Trek Voyager models for Christmas. Now, I am currently on ebay browsing and found some stuff, but want to make sure what I’m getting is specifically from the Voyager series. I have watched maybe an episode or two, but know pretty much nothing about Star Trek whatsoever.

Here they are:

Futura Model
Maquis ship
Kazon torpedo
USS Voyager

Thanks so much! 🙂

Voyager is, Maquis could be Voyager or Deep Space 9. Not sure about the rest. You might be able to get more info from the following website:

i can help you out since iam an ernormous trekkie. from the voayger series, it is the kazon and USS Voyager. do you want a ship from Voyager? what exactly are you looking for?

Marilena,

My husband said he wanted models from Voyager, so I’m off hunting for them and feel unqualified, since I had never even seen a single episode of Star Trek until we began dating about two years ago. Since then, it’s only been a handful.

The only REAL Star Trek is Captian James T Kirk and the USS Enterprise!

Having watched every episode of Voyager at least 5 times I feel somewhat qualified to comment on this.

Obviously the “USS Voyager” is from the Voyager TV show. So is the Kazon torpedo from the show. The Maquis ship could be considered Voyager as there were more than just 2 Maquis on Voyager. You had others playing a “supporting” role in the tv show. For the life of me I can’t recall “Futura Model” ever being mentioned on Voyager so I would take a pass on it unless somebody can verify it was from the Voyager tv show.

Maquis is deep space nine, only that maquis members on voyager were chakotay and torres. tuvok was a spy aboard a maquis ship.
Actually, there were several Maquis members of Voyager’s crew. Seska, for example. You can tell Starfleet crew from Maquis crew by looking at their rank insignia on the right side of the “turtleneck” part of the uniform. Little dots are Starfleet and rectangular insignia are Maquis.

The Maquis were introduced on DS9 and became an integral part of the backstory to Voyager. DS9 was the third series, set around the time of the 4th or 5th year of The Next Generation (TNG) and Voyager started right at the end of TNG’s run.

Yeah, I’m a total geek, I know. I have my DVR working overtime this week (Spike is running a Voyager marathon! 🙂

Too bad Hallmark discontinued the Star Trek ornament series a few years ago.

This site has information on all the technology, ships, species, timelines, politics, major figures, anomolies…basically anything you can think of. I highly recommend it.

I stand corrected. Hallmark still does Star Trek collectibles. Check out www.hallmark.com or go to a Hallmark Gold Crown store, although this year the collectibles are from the original series, not Voyager. (I got an NCC-1701 original Enterprise ornament 50% off the day after Christmas). So I would suggest that in early November you check out the Hallmark website to see what ornaments are being sold that year.

Hey there, fellow trekkies! I am not able to answer the person who started the thread, but add to some of the other comments.

There were actually quite a few Maquis on Voyager, most were enlisted to replace the 1/3 of the crew which had been killed when the ships were swept into the Delta quadrant. I was always sorry that they were absorbed so easily - I wish there had been more focus on tensions between them. There were only a few suggestions of this.

I thought that show had such great potential, but did not like the way eventually most of the men were shoved aside. There was Neelix who was basically a clown, Tom who was basically an overgrown kid and Tuvok who got some fairly decent roles but was almost Janeway’s lap dog. For the most part, Chakotay and Kim got very few roles. The doctor got the best roles I’d say of all the men, but then, he was a holograph, not really a man (although it could be said that the moral of his story is respect life on all levels). It seemed to me to turn into the Amazons of Star Trek. Fortunately or unfortunately, t.v. shows can become role models for children, and at the show’s end, many were saying that Janeway was a good role model for girls and was causing an interest in science among them. That is good. But the female in me feels that little girls need strong male role models as well and so found the show imbalanced.

Then again, it’s just a t.v. show, eh? 🙂 And it was entertaining after a hard’s day work. Not something over which to get into a dither! 🙂

Byrdele

Voyager is, Maquis could be Voyager or Deep Space 9.
Voyager is the main ship that was used in the show. They chased the Maquis and due to a bizarre occurance, the ship Voyager eneded up with the Maquis on Voyager making up roughly 1/3 of its crew. For the most part only a few Maquis had key rolls, however in some episodes there were other Maquis identified. But there was only a Maquis ship featured in the first episode of the series and then in one “flashback” episode that I can recall.

Maquis are also prominantly featured in the series Deep Space 9.

I’d suggest you find a model of the “Delta Flyer” in additon to a model of “Voyager” The Delta Flyer was a shuttle type shipped that was developed by the crew of Voyager, built on Voyager and was prominantly featured in the series.

I have the entire DS9 DVD collection, but since Voyager is currently on TV (in re-runs) I tend to watch an episode of that almost every weekday 😃 Still, the best of sci-fi is Firefly, it will be aired on Universal HD on Saturday nigths beginning in July.

One thing that doesn’t seem to have been mentioned explicitly so far - there is a Maquis ship in the double-length premiere episode of Voyager, but it is destroyed before the episode ends.
