Speaking of Star Trek, there’s a new Star Trek movie coming out next year. It’s with the original characters (including the pilot episode Enterprise captain, Pike), although obviously with a new cast. It’s basically their first mission on the Enterprise.

Eric Bana plays the villain, named Nero, although not much is known about him.

I grew up really loving Star Wars and enjoying Star Trek moderately. But as I’ve gotten older (25 now), it seems like I enjoy Star Trek more. Maybe I’m just burnt out on Star Wars, but I like the logical Spock much more compared to the swashbuckling Han Solo.

Who knows, I could swing the other way in 2-3 years. But for now, I’m taking Trek.

FYI, the prequels? FAIL

I loved Star Wars as a kid, especially the droids, and my career is now in robotics. But it was actually Star Trek that inspired me to become a scientist, because I saw on it people of all backgrounds (and women as well) being well versed in science. My friends in highschool called me Spock because of my personality. I like both though honestly, I can watch the movies and TV shows for hours.

Vote for Star Wars you will… eh heh heh heh heh. Once you start down the path of Star Wars, forever will it dominiate your destiny. But beware - fear, anger, the paths to Star Trek are they.

Deep Space Nine is the best of Trek and is better than Star Wars, but Star Wars is better than the other Trek series. Babylon 5 is still the best though.
I would have agreed with you about B - 5, but that was before the new Battlestar Galactica came out.

Star Trek has had its problems: Fred Freiberger, Wesley Crusher, Alexander “I am so a Klingon, you big meanie!” Rozhenko, “Spock’s Brain”, solve all problems by firing the particle-of-the-week through the main deflector array…

But no matter how bad Trek got, there are three little words that will forever trump:

“Jar-Jar Binks.”

I think if you play the Star Wars soundtrack backwards, it says “Jar Jar is the devil… Jar Jar is the devil.”

Of course, since I don’t really consider Ep 1-3 as real Star Wars, but rather cheap knock-offs…

Star Trek. The prequels ruined Star Wars for me.
Lucas managed to misuse some fine actors. One thing that saved the original “Star Wars” was that he was in awe of Alex Guinness and let him play the role he wanted to. I got to talk to Anthony Daniels and he told me that Guiness helped him a lot, but that Lucas wanted him to play the robot as a cartoon character rather than something more like “Data.”

Star wars including the new star wars MMO coming out!!!

Oh yeah! Raise the roof its going to be cool!!!

I vote star wars . Star wars is asome and I am not just talking about the movies I am talking abput the books.

Also center point station(people who read the books know what i an talking about :D) could destroy all the ships in starflight with one shot. So that obviolsy means that starwars

Two words end the debate for me, Jedi Knights. There aren’t any knights in Starfleet.

I will concede that point. Star Wars did a better job of presenting the galaxy as, pardon the pun, cosmopolitan. Trek very often seems to be “America in Space”.

I prefer to watch Star Trek over Star Wars.

But for RPGing, I prefer Star Wars over Star Trek… WEG d6 Star Wars.

I’ve done about equal amounts of SW and ST RPGing… FASA Trek, LUG Trek, D-Trek, Prime Directive, FGU’s Starships & Spacemen…

For SW, I’ve only run WEG D6… 1E, 1E+Rule Companion, 2E, 2E Revised and Expanded.

No… Not America in space, but Neo-communist America in space.

I love both but I had to choose Star Trek because I’ve been a fan since I can remember.
