While all of the doctors are exceptional as practitioners, the one with the best bedside manner is Dr. Bashir.
Sorry, guys, but this lady finds ‘the redhead’ just a little too much inclined to trade on her ‘femininity’. (And while I liked Seven of Nine as a complex character, again, as a woman, I could have appreciated her far more without the very “appealing to the men” cat suit.)
Dr. Bashir started off as a ‘wunderkind’ who wanted to ‘experience life on the frontier’. . .and turned into not only a much more humble person, but one who was ready to leave his comfort zone when it wasn’t all for glory and praise. Who was the one responsible for finding out that the Dominion had been infected with a fatal disease and insisted on bringing out not only that ‘the good guys’ had done it, but insisted on actually curing the Dominion as well? I just can’t see Beverly advocating for the Romulans, say, in the same way. Bones would have. . .but Bones was a lot older than Julian by then. We know that when Bones was young, and his father was stricken with a painful, ultimately fatal disease, that Bones actually euthanized his father–and that the CURE for that disease was actually found a mere week later.
