Hi,

I’m new here and was hoping to discuss a controversial topic without he intention of offending anyone. I recently started researching this issue after watching a YouTube video of Lloyd Pye. If anyone is familiar with this topic I would like to hear some thoughts from fellow Catholics. There is some seriously compelling data regarding the origins of this skull. It was a couple of years ago on the anniversary of Darwin the Vatican held a somewhat closed door conference on the topic of astrobiology. Why? What is the church getting involved with this for? Anyone have similar concerns about either topic?

Doesn’t mean a thing to me. First of all I wounder how they can be so certain of what they see in the analysis. Looked pretty hazy to me. And so what if it were true? 🤷
 
Well the recent DNA analysis seems to confirm it isn’t human or of any other known creature. I’m not really keen on the idea of Aliens. I’m not under the impression they are benevolent.

I don’t see any big deal here - at all. “starchild” funny. Nothing to see hear. Sounds like a cover story for the Weekly World News.

I take a lot of time to study what might be called strange science. There have been anomalous skulls discovered in the past. Compelling data? I highly doubt it. It reminds me about the whole “alien implants” being removed from human brains thing. Or the “alien autopsy” footage. Compelling? No.

There is zero evidence of aliens on earth. None.

I’m not jumping to conclusions, but considering the evidence. Thanks for your reply Ed, but did you happen to follow up on the most recent DNA data? It doesn’t sound funny to me.

I did a little looking and it seems people who believe in aliens will believe it. There is no place I have found scientific evidence supporting this connection outside the weirdasphere. So let us apply a little logic. As we do not have any alien DNA (of course), there is no way to say this is an alien hybrid. Therefore, anyone who makes such a claim should be de facto discredited. There have been so many cephalific deviations due to birth defects and disease, I would say the obvious reason is for this skull is the best.
 
And, of course we know aliens would have DNA of the earthly type. Really???
 
I find it implausible that alien life would have DNA at all rather than some other form of genetic code, unless of course there were a genetic relationship between it and us, such as if the first living cells on earth, from which all other known life is derived, were of extraterrestrial origin and shared a common ancestor with this other life.
 
I believe the church’s position is that we don’t know if there is alien life, but it’s never denied. Aside from that, It is insanely unlikely that it exists, much less that it could make it to and/or contact earth.

And aside from that: Look up C.S. Lewis’ Space Trilogy.

In 1999 DNA tests were run and found DNA was found to be human with XY chromosomes. What other DNA tests are you referring to?

The Vatican had a small conference where it talked through the theological issues that would arise if life on other planets were found. It was held more in response to the potential of finding, say, something resembling bacteria on Mars or a moon of Saturn, rather than due the existence of a “star child” skull. It was “closed door” only to allow its participants to speak freely.

Most importantly at the conference, the church reaffirmed that life on another planet would be created by the same God as life on our planet.
 
The argument made by LLoyd Pye is the results from the 1999 analysis were contaminated and erroneous.

There is a point that DNA testing has advanced significantly since 1999.

I have heard about the starchild. I do have an interest in the possibility that the alien race commonly called the “Grays” have visited the Earth some time in its past, but I am in no way knowledgeable enough or serious enough about the topic to comment on the veracity of the claims involved.

However I am very concerned that any catholic would express paranoia about the Vatican interest in astrobiology. I don’t understand why you would feel concerned about that. Are you a part of the anti-science culture in America?
 
The yearning to find aliens really has zero relation to science. And the Catholic Church should have more important things to worry about, IMNAAHO.

The search for alien lifeforms does have a relation to science, its called “astrobiology”

God has two bibles. There is the world that science has discovered, and there is the good news of scripture. I think a rational Christian has a duty to study both.

If there is intelligent life on other planets then we will send Catholic missionary’s to teach them about Jesus.
