Starting a praise&worship group

Hi there,
Not sure if I’ve put this in the right forum but anyway. I am working out plans for an interdenominational praise & worship group. I’m thinking of one meeting every four to six weeks, and just making music together (like Chris Tomlin, Tim Hughes, Hillsong, but also Taizé and the like) and reading some Scriptures. A small group of people would lead these sessions and the others can sing along. I’d target 14 to 30 year olds but of course everyone would be welcome. I’ve been talking to some people who are very enthusiastic to cooperate. The goal of these praise & worship sessions would be to encourage young people to live a God-centered life. I am sure music appeals to my generation very much and I am positive that it would lead to a better and more passionate understanding of the Christian faith. Note that I want to make this interdenominational.

Have any of you got experience with a similar project? Have you got any tips, are there things I should really should/shouldn’t do?

It is common in my area for members from interdenominational choirs to get together to perform major works. Many people who attend feel that they get a spiritual experience out of it, however, the main focus in the advertising is the music. I think if they push the religious part of it, people would be uncomfortable because there are so many aspects of the faith that different churches disagree on.
 
Hmmm that is indeed something for me to keep in mind. A lot of popular Christian music seems to cross these differences so focusing on that aspect of praise & worship would be good.
