State of grace?

What’s the easiest way to know whether you are in a state of grace (ie: able to pray and recieve communion)?

I’m still trying to find out about video games and sloth, as people may or may not be aware, and I definatly don’t want to go to recieve Communion unworthily.
 
You are in a state of grace if you have not committed a mortal sin since your last confession. I understand that you are trying to figure out if your sloth is a mortal sin. In general, you can only commit a mortal sin when the act is gravely wrong, you know it is, and you do it freely anyway. If you genuinely don’t know, then it’s impossible to have committed a mortal sin.

The correct course of action for you is to go to confession and confess your sloth, and ask the priest how serious it is for you. This is assuming you are sorry enough to be willing to change if you find that your inactivity is seriously sinful.
