So - I recently came back to the church.

I have had a couple of really good confessions and felt as though I had completely wiped away my past.

Of course, as I was reading something here on CAF, a mortal sin I committed popped into my head which I forgot about until now.

I know that it is required that I confess this sin at my next confession - but does this mean that I am in a state of mortal sin until I do?

Thanks!

No.

If you honestly forgot, the sin was absolved during confession.

Confession absolves ALL sins, unless you deliberately withhold a mortal sin.

You need to mentionit, but only as a gesture of humility.

God Bless
