Stations of the Cross : 14 or 15

I have never heard of any parishes having a Stations of the Cross service in the Church other than during Lent. Is this a common practice in parishes?
I’ve not seen it done at a parish level, but I usually lead them for our Franciscan group two or three times a year. At least once will be during lent, but the others are just randomly selected.

I remember being told that Pope John Paul II introduced the 15th station which is “The Resurrection” as this completes the “Way of the Cross”. I have tried to find a reference to this but am unable to do so. I have seen the 15th Station in quite a few Churches.
