I am having trouble inserting the image into my post so you will just have to follow the link.

I received my diocesan newspaper today and found a picture of Stations of the Cross in mime.

Dude, Stations of the Cross in mime, and yet our bishops refuses to allow a TLM even when hundreds requested it.

There is no image there, BTW. Maybe try again?

Oh please put up the pictures! I really want to see this!

Try this link, I don’t know what my trouble is with posting this pic. I can’t get it on my blog nor on this forum.

I can only get it to go to the first pic, but I get the picture: The stations of the cross are being reduced to a show:

There is only one pic, it was an ad for the event in our diocesan newspaper. Evidently, they have done this before.

Well, may we assume the ONLY woman with a headcovering is Mary?
No, that is Mary Magdalene, Jesus’ wife dude. Obviously you haven’t been through any CCD classes lately.

Wow.

I laughed, I cried, i’ll making sure to buy a ticket for next year. What will these guys think of next? I can hardly stand the suspense.

This thread is about 2 years old, but I would like to resurrect it.

I finished reading Mother Angelica’s biography by Raymond Arroyo, Mother Angelica: The remarkable story of a nun, her nerve and a network of miricles. The book reports that in August of 1993 at the World Youth Day in Denver, there was a mime version of the stations of the cross in which Jesus was portrayed by a woman. Mother Angelica was outraged and felt she had been duped into broadcasting it. She went on the air in August and blasted the liberal Church. This is part of what she said, she said a lot more: “I am so tired of you, liberal church in America … I resent your pushing your anti-Catholic, ungodly ways upon the masses in this country”

Anyway, the response from the bishops and the press was, for the most part, criticism for Mother Angelica, not for the mimes.

Does anyone know where to get a video (or pictures) of the mimes. Especially pictures of the feminine Jesus mime. Also, where to get a video (or audio) of Mother’s broadcast of World Youth Day 1993. I would love to get videos of them both.

**I went to a Sunday School play about the Raising of Lazarus. The various characters held icons of the Biblical figures they were playing, including the Christus, who was played by a girl.

Nothing in this context to get upset over.**

Mary Magdalen was NOT JESUS’ ‘WIFE’, DUDE! They were NEVER MARRIED!

Thought we got over this after the DaVinci Code movie…oy…

🤷

I think it was a joke, since the same person who posted the link to the pic in the first place was also the same one who made the comment… Pretty tasteless joke, but I did get a bit of a chuckle.

God Bless!

That is just down right freaky! I think the proper term would be an abomination
