Stations of the Cross on Sundays

A group of parishioners and I often gather after Mass to recite the rosary, sometimes even up to two rosaries along with the Litany of the BVM and other prayers. For Lent, we were thinking of praying the sorrowful mysteries, the seven sorrows chaplet, and the Stations of the Cross. I know the Stations of the Cross is normally prayed on Fridays, but is it permissible to do the Way of the Cross on Sundays?
 
The SotC is a private devotion so it can be done at anytime. However, Sunday is a day of joy commemorating the Resurrection and Friday is a day of penance, commemorating the Crucifixion.
