They’re doing the SOTC at 7:00 PM Friday. I thought this was an individual devotion. What’s this all about? How long does it take? Is it for Catholics only?
The Stations of the Cross is popular piety, rather than liturgy. But it is often celebrated by groups of people. They’re doing the SOTC at 7:00 PM Friday. I thought this was an individual devotion. What’s this all about? How long does it take? Is it for Catholics only?
At least in our parish, the priest and altar boy go from station to station, with the other participants remaining in the pews. You stand, sit and kneel when appropriate. Not everyone is able to kneel or stand due to health conditions and that is perfectly acceptable. As I have never been to a formal Stations of the Cross…would it be appropriate to stay in the pew, as I don’t believe I would be able to stand for the whole entire Stations? Thanks…
