I have many statues, with my favorites a white small sculpture of a bust of Jesus, a beautiful Mary, and many small ones. We also won a large wooden carved Last Supper wall hanging many years ago.

When I lived in a different city, I sold Avon (yes, door to door!), and visited many Hispanic/Mexican homes, where many of them had not only statues, but rosaries on them and on the walls with the large pictures and tapestries of the Blessed Mother and Jesus.

Got my first wall crucifix recently; got my first mini statue of Mary at Christmas.
👍

Question: Why the bedrooms specifically for your crucifix(es)?

Wasn’t there a politician who promised a chicken I every pot and a crucifix in every bedroom? Wait, no… 😉

I have sacramentals throughout the house you’d be hard pressed to miss.

Another favorite. It is made of wood from the Holy Land at least that is what we were told.😉

I had to really look in my home to answer this:

-Each our bedrooms have a crucifixes (3 bedrooms)

A picture of the last supper in the dinning room

A small stand alone crucifix in our dinning room on my X furniture piece

A holy water holder (not sure if there is a special name for them) with Saint Therese (Little Flower) on the wall next to the front door that is between the living room and dinning room

A small picture of a cross with a beautiful saying that I received from my CCD teacher when I was a teenager in my family room

An angel that was my tree topper that I kept out on my tv stand in my family room

A statue of Our Lady with Jesus on the same tv stand in my family room

A glow and the dark rosary that I have draped around my ADT alarm panel in the kitchen

A cross on a rope necklace that is draped around my phone answering machine in the kitchen

So that is what is normal that I know…

I really want to add a statue of Mary for outside my home… Hopefully when I get the money for it soon…

Not sure if this is a Catholic thing but in my family, crucifix in our bedroom so Jesus can watch over you as you sleep… But then again I have Him everywhere in my home.

Each bedroom has at least a crucifix. Our dining room has a statue of Mary, and our home office has an icon.

=Magdalena59;11720922]I am wondering do others have many statues in their homes and do you have crucifixes in every room? My parents always did and I do now but I was recently questioned about it by another Catholic and it made me wonder.
While it is a GREAT practice; it is a matter of personal piety. Not in an absolute sense mandated.

I do, but I suspect we are the exception, not the ruke:)

Continued Blessings,
Patrick

I am glad I posted this question. I enjoyed hearing everyone’s answers. I myself have many statues and a picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and one of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and biblical verse plaques and a kitchen Madonna and a crucifix in almost every room. I am wanting to get a holy water font but haven’t decided where to put it yet so haven’t got one. I guess that could be my next question, if and where people have holy water fonts.

Hello there! My religious articles are in my office.

1 Divine Mercy statue

1 Immaculate Heart of Mary statue

1 St. Jude statue (my first saint statue)

1 St. Theresa (Little flower) statue

1 porcelain praying Mary bust statue (first Mary statue)

I also wear a small crucifix and St. Francis of Assisi (patron saint) medal.

I look forward to one day adding a St. Michael and St. Benedict statue and getting my first crucifix. 🙂

God Bless! :signofcross:

Mine is near the front door. Handy for praying when when leaving and returning home. It really annoys my brothers.

I have a picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and a small stature of Our Lady in our bedroom.
My wife is not catholic and worries about what the neighbours think, however I am the head of the house and until my neighbours chip in for the mortgage they don’t get a say.

In our small living area, (we share a house with my sister) the wife and I have statues of Mary, Infant of Prague, Our Lady of Fatima, St. Philomena and St. Jude. There is also a home Shrine. Plus seven crucifixes. One for each child that we raised.
