I do say too, if you decide to get rid of the grey do it the Grecian formula way, as I understand it, this takes the grey away slowly (which really, won’t relieve your boredom because it isn’t supposed to take long).

Or go get yourself some Manic Panic and go shocking orange or Rainbow Brite pink! It is a wash out brand you can purchase at a beauty supply store like Sally’s.

Well I wouldn’t color it cause I was bored, I just came up with the poll cause of it. LOL.

I was tawkin to Debbie last night and told her I was dewin a online poll if I should color my hair.

“Oh yeah? Don’t I get a vote?” She doesn’t get online cause she hates puters. I dunno if she can even cut this thing on.

“well yeah, in fact your vote is gonna count x5, but the question is do I stay gray or go back brown.”

“so whats it lookin like?”

“right now its about 4-1 stay gray, and some suggested cut it a little shorter, and go with the tossed gray Harrison Ford look.”

“yum, why didn’t I think of that?”

So I now I gotta find somebody qualified to do this, if indeed the numbers don’t change. Never know, a bunch of pro color folks could join in. I don’t have a lot of confidence in my current stylist to pull it off though.

I showed her the pic Mridath posted above and said I might go with the Captain Kangaroo cut. She threatened to annul me if I did. No kidding.

“They’re NOT gonna give you an annulment based on a haircut.”

“yes they will”

“it’s a valid haircut, the girl thats gonna do the cuttin and stylin has stylist succession, besides all I gotta do is parade a bunch of witness vouching I’m the model husband, cos you know in your mind I am”

“yeah right”

So no captain kangaroo. :o

Thanks be to God!!! :clapping: :yup: Was that picture really of a man? With all the makeup I couldn’t tell. 🤷

Yeah, shorter would look great on you. If you don’t think your barber could pull it off, try a different stylist. Believe it or not, women can cut men’s hair, and make it look good! 😉

Should I stay with the gray look, or dye my hair? 😉
Gray hair is SO MUCH more attractive!!! I love it that my husband is starting to get little tinges of gray (he’s only 31 so he has a way to go yet) 😃 .

Don’t color your hair!! You look great the way you are!!

Use a good quality hair color. Perhaps one for men that leaves a little gray at the temple. Or go to a salon.

Don’t go too dark. Pick a color 2 shades lighter than your natural color

Natural Dark Brown = Light Brown color. (That’s what I use)

A temporary color will let you see the results but wash out in a few weeks.

If you like it you can then use a permanent color.
Look for “100% gray coverage” on the box.

Don’t forget skin care too. That will also aid in a more youthful appearance.

That’s kind of a difficult question to answer… Genesis was instrumental in the formation of COUM Transmissions, Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV, and other art and music groups that pushed the avant-garde envelope off a cliff. The appearance is a living art experiment with surgery as the medium and the body as canvas, and was a joint effort between Genesis and his/her partner Lady Jaye until the latter died suddenly.

Genesis is, to put it mildly, one of the more interesting beings to spice up the late 20th century 🙂

aint that the group Phil Collins was in?:hmmm:

Here’s my advice: find a really really gorgeous female hairstylist and have her update your cut. Leave your color gray.

Next step: practice saying, “X’cuse me, ma’am…is this your jaw I just picked up?” 🙂

Good luck.

Dang.

Some people, when their hair turns grey, get absolutely gorgeous locks that they should never color, and should wear long and proud - it’s just that amazing!

Some people, not so much.

I myself started getting grey streaks when I was at the end of highschool (my hair was never willing to decide between being Irish auburn and Asian black…so the wavy red parts greyed out early). This looked pretty cool in my early 20’s, but now I’m 40, and don’t look my age - except for my iron-grey hair, so I do color it, usually plain blueblack, since it’s simple. But in a couple days, I’m planning to reblack it and add a layer of dark violet over the top just for fun. I get bored, and besides, I CAN still pull it off without looking totally undignified. I can’t do the ‘soccermom’ look - it’s horrible on me, so hey, may as well have fun! 😃

I’ll give it up most likely when my age really does start to show - I’m not all that vain. I just want to enjoy all aspects of my age. 🙂

I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever color my hair.

Once you do, it’s truly the end. It is appointed to man once to dye, and after that the resurrection.

Thanks for this thread - my hair is silver and every so often people tell me I should colour it.

What’s been different about this thread is the practical advice it includes - there have been aspects that I would never thought about including the actual process of doing it at home.

I’ll be following it with interest even though I’m pretty sure I won’t be colouring mine.

I love my husband’s gray hair. It gives him a dignity he didn’t have back in his hippie days. From the looks of your picture, you are about the same age as he. I say leave it alone. 🙂

So Guy what is going on on your head…you have left us girls hangin’! Did you cut it? Color or not color? Hmmmmm???:hmmm: :ehh:

Well the poll closes on Sept 11, so gotta hold on till then. LOL. Who knows the trend might reverse! Y’all gotta get your friends to come vote!

In fact I was online today lookin at shorter, more cropped haircuts, that might work for me

Keep in mind I’m NOT Brad Pitt LOL but what about this look? They said it was easy to maintain, ya just put a little mouse in your hand and rub it in, and you get this tossed look, but I dunno what it will look like wif gray. I have the same kinda of oval head as BP, so whaya think?

And if I do it I gotta seek a better sytlists. I don’t have any confidence in my current issue. The stylist I’d LIKE to do it, only works on ladies, not enough money in men she says. She works in the same shop I go to. She does some really nice work judging by the ladies I see leaving her chair, and seems really good with short hair.

I’m thinkin about NOT telling Debbie, just show up the office with a new do and take her to lunch. My haircut has not changed in 20 years, she has mentioned in passing I might be due for a update.

Very NICE

I think it’d look snazzy 😃 Go for it… I’ll grow out in six weeks if you don’t like it.
