Unless you want to spend several hours each week going over his assignments and “reprogramming” him, do your best to keep him out of the public schools. His mind will get filled with LBGTQ agitprop and anti-male, feminist nonsense there. Have you considered homeschooling?
We are in the exact position right now. We are cyber schooling my son through middle school because he needed the extra services to allow him to fully succeed in high school. However, I would never send our son to our public school–not when they are talking about how to handle LGBT students and bathrooms.

Can you ask the school for your son to take a practice test? Many offer them around us. They school we picked has a scholarship exam (and placement exams), but no entrance exam.

Now, if for some reason, my son’s Aspergers keeps him from a successful brick and mortar placement, I would cyber school him at the Kolbe Academy. Honestly, the cyber school in our district is more rigorous than our public schools. But, I do want him to attend brick and mortar school so he isn’t too sheltered.
