Staying over with a family

I intend to visit a male friend who lives at least 1,5 hour from here. He lives with his parents and they have a guest room. Should I stay in their house or is it better to ask if my friend can bring me to a hostel?

Is the male friend just a friend? If so, and the parents are ok with it, I’d stay in the guest room.

I agree with yellowbird.

Something to consider though would be if you staying over, even in the guest room, would it create a near occasion of sin?

But to reiterate, if you guys are just friends and the parents are okay with it, I wouldn’t see why staying in the guest room would be a bad thing.

Now if this friend has other intentions (and we don’t know)… just be careful.
