I don’t know, I really don’t think it’s wrong, but I was and still am in the same position. My fiancee and I have dated for near 5 years. 3 of those have been long distance, ranging from 2 hours to now 4 hours apart.
Yes, there is the near occasion of sin, but I do think that if both of you have made a commitment to remaining chaste and are of a strong faith, you can make it work, and not fall into temptation.
There are times when it just isn’t practical to drive back home. For instance, where we lived, it was all country roads and it was in a deer filled area. It can get hazardous driving home at night. Also, it gets more expensive on gas if you go back and forth over the weekend.
I’m just coming from my point of view. Both my fiancee and I are very devout, traditional Catholics. We’ve been together for 5 years and haven’t fallen into temptation, so it can work. You just have to know your relationship with your significant other and God I think.
